The new addition of the Hybrid system means that you not only get an exciting driving performance, but also an improved fuel efficiency compared to the equivalent model without Hybrid. 

The Ignis is also available with AllGrip Auto in the SZ5 model meaning that you really can take the Ignis from fun city car to off-roader. With enhanced grip control and hill descent included in the AllGrip Auto it can take you anywhere you want to go.

How does the Hybrid engine work? 

The Hybrid engine helps improve fuel efficiency without the fuss of finding somewhere to charge your car. So you get a few more miles in the tank, and a great driving experience. 
The technical explanation for the Hybrid system is that it uses just two main components - an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a 12V Lithium-Ion battery. The ISG uses energy recovered during deceleration and braking to generate electricity that recharges the Lithium-Ion battery. Then, during acceleration, the ISG uses the stored energy to assist the petrol engine, resulting in less fuel used and fewer CO2 emissions.

 



Available with CVT Transmission 

The Hybrid engine is available in CVT Transmission. CVT stands for Continuous Variable Transmission. The New 1.2 Dulajet Hybrid CVT engine is a 4 cylinder engine, with acceleration 0-62 mph being achieved in 12.4 seconds. The CVT system can vary the actual gear ratio continuously and stepless from low-speed to high-speed range depending on the driving conditions. The CVT allows improved driveability with reduced shift-shock in comparison with a conventional automatic transmission. This transmission is available in the SZ-T and SZ5 models with 2WD.
