At TJ Vickers we pride ourselves on not only supplying you your new car but inviting you to join our family. Established in 1962, Thomas Jeffery Vickers was the founder member of T J Vickers and Sons. Three years later son's Colin and Steve joined their father completing the partnership in June 1965.
Having gained an excellent reputation in their first 17 years of business. Colin and Steve took the opportunity to purchase Salopian Motors on Trench Road. We are celebrating our 40th year at this site this year.
Soon after in 1982 TJ Vickers added the Fiat franchise. In the same year Colin's son Ian also joined the company. Since then the business continued to progress and has gone from strength to strength.
Following the success of expanding into Shrewsbury in 1999 with our Suzuki dealership. T J Vickers Shrewsbury relocated to the town's Battlefield Enterprise Park in 2005. This enabled us to offer both Suzuki and Fiat to the area. Five years later in 2010 we opened our second Suzuki site on Trench Road, Telford. Further enhancing our commitment to both brands throughout Shropshire. In 2014 we added the Jeep and Alfa Romeo franchises offering even more choice for customers.
In 2007 Colin and Steve Vickers took retirement. Matthew Cole joined Ian Vickers as a Director. They each have over 35 years of experience at TJ Vickers. Their main aim is to ensure the family tradition and values continue into the 21st century. They have a professional and experienced team working with them. Along with superb manufacturers, creating innovative products. Continuing the family tradition both of Ian's children have joined TJ Vickers. His daughter Becky became Operations Manager in 2019. She has 15 years of experience at TJ Vickers. Whilst his son Tom is a valued member of the used car refurbishment team also with over 15 years’ experience. This history makes us one of the oldest and most successful family run automotive businesses in the area. The highest level of customer service is at the heart of everything we do.
